Practice for Wednesday, August 31 will be held at 7pm due to the heat.  Meet at the stadium as you normally would.  Bring water!

WMS XC Pizza and Pool Party hosted by the Blair Family
Friday, Sept. 3 6-8pm
$5 p/person (bring with you) for pizza, drinks and dessert

Bring your swimsuit and towel
RSVP to the Blairs ( ) by Thursday

If your physical expires before October 19, 2010, don't forget to schedule a physical!  You MUST have a current physical (after Oct. 19 2009) in order to continue running .  Need a physical form?  Go to the home page on this site, click on the document tab on the left, and scroll down until you find the physical form.  
 

    

 
*  I know that many of you want to be able to calculate how far you run when you run on the course at school.  If you run every section of the course, starting and finishing at the concession stand on the visitor side, it is 2.8 miles (when we start and finish at the middle school it is about 2.4 miles). Here are the measurements for the different parts of the course:

1.  Concession stand to start of Creek Loop - .20
2.  Creek loop - .36 
3.  Bee Woods - .25
4.  Exit of Bee Woods to Vietnam - .32
5.  Vietnam - .32
6.  Exit of Vietnam to WMS driveway - .16
7.  Ridge - .20
8.  Gravel rd. Woods - .20
9.  Exit of gravel rd. woods to 3 bridge woods - .07
10.3 Bridge Woods to the WHS bridge - .17
11.WHS Bridge/floodplain/back of student parking lot - .15
12.Big hill across bridge - .10
13.Back of football practice field to start of Creek Loop - .16
                                   
 




* If you didn't pick up a running log, you can do so at optional practices

*  Runners are expected to complete a minimum of 75 miles over the summer (usually comes out to approx. 7 miles or less a week). 

*  Make sure you get a physical scheduled for your child! Physicals are good for one calendar year.  Your child needs to have had a physical sometime after October 20, 2009 in order to be "current" for the entire cross country season.

*  Official practices begin on August 16.  These practices are held in the morning to beat the heat as long as we can!

*  Once school begins, practices are held everyday after school.  We meet at the high school stadium.

*  The regular season is usually over in mid October.
